Pauline Keith (aka Pauline Thorpe) returned with her small children to the Northwest in 1972 and drove down permanent (but elastic) roots in Lancaster after living and teaching in Turkey, Nigeria, Singapore, Holland and Canada. She can get homesick for any one of those past lives but knows she belongs where her wanderlust began.
She was a founder-member of Lancaster’s pioneering Literature Festival in the late 70’s. Her own work earned her Second in the Bridport Prize (2005) and a coveted Commended in the National Poetry Competition (2007). On-going work intends to sift the contents of an over-stuffed memory.
