Carole Coates

Carole Coates has had three poetry collections published by Shoestring Press. The most recent is Swallowing Stones (2012), about which Neil Curry has said ‘I have never read anything like it. It is an outstanding combination of imagination and intellect.’

Of Carole’s second collection Looking Good (2009), Jean Sprackland commented ‘These poems revisit intense experience with painful honesty and wry humour’, while  her first collection The Goodbye Edition (2005) was described by R.V. Bailey as being ‘in the territory of magic realism but with a very particular map. It’s an unusually powerful and interesting collection.’

Shoestring Press will publish her verse novel in 2016.
