Jane Routh

Jane Routh is a photographer and poet with four full collections and a prose book with Smith|Doorstop. Circumnavigation (2002) won the Poetry Business Competition and was shortlisted for a Forward Prize for best first collection; Teach Yourself Mapmaking (2006) was a Poetry Book Society recommendation. This was followed by The Gift of Boats (2010) and Listening to the Night (2018).

Her 2014 prose publication, Falling into Place, celebrates work, wildlife and weather in north west England, where she’s lived for forty years – looking after an Ancient Semi-Natural Woodland, planting new woodlands and keeping geese for the last twenty.

After follows The White Silence as her second pamphlet with Wayleave Press.
She took first prize in the 2009 Academi Cardiff International Poetry Competition (with the title poem of The Gift of Boats) and in the 2011 Strokestown International Poetry Competition. She contributes reviews and non-fiction to several publications.
